Oh crap it's April already?
Which means March is a record low for least entries in a month D:

Anyway, I know that JLPT results were already out for ages but they don't send them directly to my mail so I have to go to my uni to get it... and I'm finding it hard to drive uptown or even deciding when to do it. I've been sleeping in the morning lately, but I'm starting to fix it from today. But ehhh Champions League quarterfinals are quite soon and those are on like at 3AM ~_~... I'll post up my results when I get them.

If I haven't been mentioning this, I'm playing Shirokishi Monogatari/White Knight Story. The gameplay is so Monster Hunter - online play that I'll never ever touch (MMO-xenophobia), the shiny spots with about 10 raw materials, sidequests to buy and go solo on etc... worst of all, the story is so cliche. The hero is a desperate and hapless guy too which to me is quite annoying. My personalised character in it is a black long-haired girl called Yuriko, specialising in spears.

Senjou no Valkyria~! I've only heard the chorus of HIMEKA's song and I agree with her that it needed more punch at that part but the lyrics are nice ([info]nattokinase noted to me the lyricist is quite good), can't wait for May when it's out. Should I really go and buy the game and watch the anime side-by-side? Always a Sega fanboy, I am.

I wonder who else watches the current Marimite, so I should really put a spoiler cut. OMFG Touko is now Yumi's petite soeur! I love the twin-drillhead for a long time already but this comes as a nice surprise. The ED by Kaori Hikita is so emotionally awesome, and the song title is also the episode title when Touko first rejected Yumi; basically the song is Yumi asking Touko to open the window. It's always nice when you have the author of the series writing the theme songs because they will always come together well.

It has been quite an exciting few days on LJ, what with reviving OMGLM and befriending a few new people around. I should start writing more entries. And go record some singing. Who said I was busy?

Finally a reminder: don't trust anyone today.

EDIT: :3 茜は俺の嫁。 Gone now T_T

And here I thought only that Dragon Quest game Level-5's doing sound like Radiant Mythology. From what you just said Shirokishi took the gameplay style of RM too. /hmm

"MMO-xenophobia"

Buh? You talk to people you don't really know though an online medium already. I don't understand.

I don't understand this, either. Please elaborate, Azu~

On forums and blogs you only get to exchange words, from there you can choose to make them acquaintances or just ignore them. You can filter out who you talk to. It's your own area and you control content for blogs, for forums there are moderators that do their job to quell the flames directed to a certain group or even when there are personal insults.

With gaming however, it's a different situation. Gaming is a recreation, something you want to do and be successful in i.e. progress. I prefer playing alone because that way I do not reveal my gaming flaws to anyone else. I prefer playing alone because I don't want to get PKed by some random troll. I seriously don't want to get insulted by strangers who I've never met before. I have no control in the MMO world I'm playing in, and often there isn't any staff to moderate bad players and sob's from hurting your pride. You can't insta-block them like you can with IMs.

I lack faith in the casual gamer because a good number of them are idiots. Most people online are, yes, but weeding them out of your life, while you can easily do with text-based places, isn't manageable in a virtual world in something you'd expect to get some fun of in the first place.

Ah well can't fault you for that D: that's pretty much how a lot of MMOs are (though some have the option between normal and Player versus Player servers, thank god. Bad memories of Lineage II because I got PKed at the lower levels a lot due to their forced system).

>>I prefer playing alone because that way I do not reveal my gaming flaws to anyone else.
I can understand the pressure in an all-star team, but most of the time, players team up with others of similar caliber or level...and when things go wrong, it's generally because the entire team fails, not just you. Most players I've encountered don't expect their teammates to be flawless...even the healers.

>>I prefer playing alone because I don't want to get PKed by some random troll.
That's not an issue for MMOs with restricted PvP, though. Free open PvP system, yes, you can easily get PK'd, so I generally avoid those unless I have friends who will watch my back while I get strong enough.

>>I seriously don't want to get insulted by strangers who I've never met before.
Haha, that you can't avoid if you solo...but in many MMOs, you can safely ignore those idiots like on forums/blogs; I've used the blocking feature quite often to ignore people. Once you've find your little community and group of friends, you are less likely to be insulted...grievers and trolls generally prey on players who are alone if the system allows it.

>>I have no control in the MMO world I'm playing in, and often there isn't any staff to moderate bad players and sob's from hurting your pride. You can't insta-block them like you can with IMs.
True. Generally, the easiest ways to go are to ignore the assholes (if possible), roll with friends/acquaintances, or as a last resort, move to a different area.

I have no faith in people in general. Still, I don't think the MMO experience is that bad. I can speak from personal experience that all of the points you mentioned are valid and do happen whether I'm the victim or instigator, but they are generally isolated incidents that happen rarely or because my character was vulnerable or alone or I had it coming.

Oh well, thanks for taking the time to elaborate~

Not anymore I don't. I am a hopeless MMO addict with no sense of self-restraint, so I've been abstaining and staying 5 feet away from any and every MMO for the past few years...best way to avoid addiction is to prevent it from happening in the first place. v_v

Oh, it's April 1st for you already? D: Man you're a lot of hours ahead of me... Yeah I kinda dread tomorrow since I do a lot of stuff online and it's so much easier to "April Fool" people online than it is in reality.

You can't look them up on the website? The American site lets you do that.

It's kind of funny... the more free time you have, the less time you have to do stuff. How does that work out?? XD
